More than 2,100 Lions from 270 of Wisconsin’s 500 Lions Clubs participate in the LEBW Transporter Program. One of the more unique vision service projects, Wisconsin Lions volunteer their time for the Lions Eye Bank of Wisconsin as transporters, helping relay both corneal tissue and surgical supplies used for the recovery of corneas, throughout the state of Wisconsin.
In 2025, the Lions Eye Bank of Wisconsin had a little more than 1,200 Wisconsin donors who chose to Give the Gift of Sight and donated their corneal tissue. LEBW was able to place approximately 1,700 corneas for transplant surgery, with nearly 900 of those corneas helping restore vision for Wisconsin residents.
In the 2025-26 Lions year, transporters logged more than 3,000 transports and a little more than 8,000 service hours.
Transporters are required to take a certification course to become transporters and then renew that certification each year.
